Legal & Privacy

Effective September 6, 2026 · Last updated September 6, 2026

Welcome to ÆFUR. These terms explain the rules for using the service, the important disclaimers that come with a tool that touches financial markets, and how we handle your privacy. In plain terms: ÆFUR is a way to explore and think about the market — it is not financial advice, it runs in your browser, and it collects as little about you as possible. The details follow.

In this document, AEFUR, a sole proprietorship based in New York, United States ("ÆFUR", "we", "us", or "our"), operates the ÆFUR website at aefur.com and the ÆFUR application (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the Terms below.

1Important Disclaimers

Not investment advice

Read this first

ÆFUR is an educational and analytical visualization tool. Nothing in the Service is investment, financial, legal, tax, or other professional advice, an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security, or a recommendation of any investment strategy. ÆFUR is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or financial planner, and using the Service creates no advisory or fiduciary relationship. Do your own research and consult a licensed professional before making any financial decision. You are solely responsible for your decisions and their outcomes.

Markets involve risk, including the possible loss of principal. Past performance shown in the Service does not indicate or guarantee future results. Figures may be delayed, incomplete, estimated, or wrong.

Data sources & accuracy

ÆFUR draws on public and third-party data, including filings from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), short-interest data from FINRA, congressional trading disclosures, federal lobbying and contract records, and a price feed. Some inputs — currently including the price feed — are provisional or prototype sources. We work to represent data honestly (missing values are shown as missing, and illustrative figures are labeled), but we do not warrant that any data is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any purpose. Do not rely on the Service as a system of record.

Third-party trademarks & no affiliation

S&P notice

ÆFUR is not affiliated with, sponsored, or endorsed by S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC, S&P Global, or their affiliates. "S&P 500" and related marks are trademarks of S&P Dow Jones Indices and/or its affiliates and are used here for identification and descriptive purposes only. "Nasdaq" and "Nasdaq-100" are trademarks of Nasdaq, Inc. All other company names, tickers, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners, and their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of ÆFUR.

"As is", no warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

2Terms of Service

2.1 Acceptance

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Disclaimers above. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

2.2 The Service

ÆFUR is a browser-based visualization of the U.S. equity market. It runs locally in your web browser. Your basket, view settings, and saved captures are stored on your own device (in your browser's local storage) and are not uploaded to us. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

2.3 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service. The Service is not directed to children.

2.4 License & acceptable use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own lawful, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You agree not to: (a) scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data or the underlying datasets from the Service; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source data or code except as permitted by law; (c) resell, redistribute, or create a competing product from the Service or its data; (d) remove or obscure any notices, labels, or disclaimers; (e) use the Service to violate any law or third-party right; or (f) interfere with or disrupt the Service.

2.5 Intellectual property

The Service — including its design, code, text, the "ÆFUR" name and mark, and the arrangement and presentation of data — is owned by AEFUR and protected by intellectual-property laws. Underlying public data is owned by its respective sources; third-party marks belong to their owners (see Disclaimers). Except for the limited license above, no rights are granted to you.

2.6 Third-party links & data

The Service may link to third-party sites (for example, source filings on sec.gov) and relies on third-party data and providers. We are not responsible for third-party content, sites, or services, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

2.7 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ÆFUR and its owners, operators, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or investment losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if advised of the possibility. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the preceding twelve months or USD 100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

2.8 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AEFUR and its owner and operator from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

2.9 Paid features (future)

The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions, additional terms — covering pricing, billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds — will apply and will be presented to you before you purchase.

2.10 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

2.11 Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Disclaimers, IP, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) will survive.

2.12 Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in the State of New York will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where prohibited by law.

2.13 Contact

3Privacy Policy

The short version

ÆFUR runs in your browser. Your basket, settings, and saved captures stay on your device and are never uploaded to us. We collect only what's needed to run the site and, if you choose, to email you — and we don't sell your data.

3.1 Who we are

AEFUR, a sole proprietorship based in New York, is the controller of personal data described here. Contact: hello@aefur.com.

3.2 What we collect

We do not knowingly collect financial-account information, and the Service does not connect to your brokerage or handle trades.

3.3 How we use it

To operate, secure, and improve the Service; to respond to your messages; and, if you opted in, to send you occasional updates. We rely on your consent (for emails/marketing), our legitimate interests (running and improving a secure site), and legal obligations as applicable.

3.4 Cookies & similar technologies

The core Service uses your browser's local storage to remember your settings on your device. ÆFUR does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and does not run cookie-based analytics. The only data kept in your browser is the local storage described above, which stays on your device.

3.5 Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service (hosting, analytics, email) under agreements that limit their use, or when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

3.6 Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you're in the EEA/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), these rights apply to you; California residents also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them, and we do not sell or "share" personal data as those laws define it. To exercise any right, email hello@aefur.com. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in each message.

3.7 Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, your email stays on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained in aggregate per our provider's settings.

3.8 Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

3.9 International transfers

We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

3.10 Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

3.11 Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy; we will change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice.
